Qral Group was selected by a specialty pharmaceutical company to design their data lake infrastructure. The existing reporting platform could not support their growing commercial needs.
The reporting layer lacked the flexibility to keep pace with the business, and inconsistent data outputs made it difficult for end users to fully trust the numbers.
These challenges required the client’s commercial team to spend significant time manually compiling reports, and long turnaround times led to delayed business insights which stalled decision-making.
Qral designed and implemented an in-house data lake platform utilizing the client’s Azure cloud environment, enabling downstream connections to ensure data accessibility to existing reporting outputs.
The new system included automated data transfer, processing and validation workflows, along with implementing approximately 500 DQM checks and documenting data governance processes to promote transparency and trust.
Qral also managed and maintained data operations including 3PL, SP, Hub, CRM, syndicated claims for targeting, HCP and account master and affiliations, and sales operations data.
The new data lake was designed and deployed in 8 weeks, with ongoing enhancement and optimization. The client was able to directly connect Tableau reports to the reporting layer, eliminating manual effort that had been required for data preparation and reporting.
The new design significantly reduced turnaround time, accelerated refresh cycles, and enabled faster responses to ad hoc business questions and data requests.
